چکیده
The wind energy exploitation technique has been developed very quickly in recent years. vertical axis turbine is a hot research domain due to several advantages: low noise, flexible for installation, ease of maintenance, great safety and credibility, etc. aerodynamic performances different forms airfoils including an active deformation airfoil fluid-solid coupling passive with two-dimensional (2D) three-dimensional (3D) cases have investigated numerically this paper. Firstly, the maximum amplitudes their cambers which are 3%, 5% 7% chord length discussed, respectively, angles attack range 0° 20°. Secondly, angle set at 18°, two-way simulations Young’s Modulus 1 Mpa 2 also investigated. Results show that: (1) pseudo 3D real single cases, lift coefficients increase as augment from 3% same attack. With amplitude, when 20°, firstly then decrease bigger than that original NACA0012 airfoil. When amplitude reaches length, relatively good performance better inhibition effect vortex generation can be obtained. distribution demonstrates deformable controlling middle cross-section along spanwise direction non-deformable (2) From aspect coupling, increases drag decreases so ratio big improvement equal Mpa. inhibit shedding surface considered.

Application of Circulation Controlled Blades for Vertical Axis Wind Turbines
The blades of a vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT) rotor see an inconsistent angle of attack through its rotation. Consequently, VAWT blades generally use symmetrical aerofoils with a lower lift-to-drag ratio than cambered aerofoils tailored to maximise horizontal axis wind turbine rotor performance. This paper considers the feasibility of circulation controlled (CC) VAWT blades, using a tangent...

H-rotor Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (VAWT) is one of the most efficient energy suppliers which have been investigated in many recent types of research. The aim of this work is to study the aerodynamic performance of a doubled-row H-Darrieus VAWT. First, an ordinary three-bladed VAWT with NACA4415 profile is simulated by means of 3D computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and results are compared to a...
